Funkus Brody… is he a man who once journeyed from the sepulchered recesses of the subconscious to discover the childlike purring of a music box? Or a sonic-filled pop/rock band unleashed in 2003 when two cubicle employees found themselves thrown to the wolves due to their company’s outsourcing?
Only time will tell…
David Dempsey (aka Monkus Toady) began work as a test pilot for the Wiz-Splat balsa-wood plane company after a wildly unsuccessful career as a tattoo artist (court decision still pending). Upon being fired for successfully completing a barrel roll while trailing a makeshift streamer constructed entirely of bottle rags commandeered from a Dickensian work-house, Dave began his now infamous career as a Squirrel Cage Operator.
Troy Blosser (aka Lumpus Moldy) has publicly expressed his contempt for the work of aquamarine mammals, especially in as much as it relates to post-modern thought on literary criticism. He is known near and far as a lover of fine table settings, and was last seen heading South for the vernal equinox towing a small raft filled with flightless birds.
"Ten Millionaires" is everything I love about both pop and quirky independent music. It's as if XTC and They Might Be Giants had been college roommates. Just like a music box that shoots out candy mints shaped like fish, it's strange, wonderful music with a hint of mint! I keep coming back to it over and over again!
