Bursting through the ionosphere from parts unknown, an asteroid tumbles toward that shining spheroid planet, known only as Sx’Nux IV to its owners… however, its inhabitants call it… “Earth.”

Huddled behind titanium doors in one of the numerous craters on that asteroid are Monkus and Lumpus, toiling with perfect concentration and unswerving commitment toward one goal: bringing yet more Funkus goodness to the hearts and minds of all those happy fools who delight in aural excitation.

Toward that end, let it be known that Monkus and Lumpus have very recently had the great pleasure of entertaining bassist extraordinaire, Tim Steele, in the Funkus bunker (capturing some thumb popping finger picking genius bass lines), along with Mike Bellini (strumming sonic sounds on guitar). Additionally, the Funkus lads have spent a swath of time constructing new songs by means of a revolutionary means involving both of them working together in the same room… at the same time. This radical new experiment, dubbed “Co-Songwriting© by Funkus™” has yielded not one (no) but two – TWO – new songs in as yet unskinned, skeletal form. Once muscle has been stretched across the spindled frame of these as yet nameless tunes, they will be released to wander the countryside, groaning at people in Funkus-zombie-like fashion, to the delight and terror of all with the misfortune to bear witness to their shambling terror-full-ness.

In other news, the Funk-o-lads are closing in on completing recording of the vast majority of instrumental bits and pieces for the forthcoming effort, which will leave only one truly daunting remaining task: the recording of vocals. Spin your prayer wheels, folks, ‘cause we need all the positive vibes, joss, and good vibrations we can.
